The cost of the phone itself isn’t cheap and can be even worse if it breaks and you do not have something like Gadget Insurance. The only issue is that insurance is costly. Everyone drops the phone at one stage and it could be that you drop yours on concrete and it smashes. Personally I have dropped mine about five times and it has managed to survive so it is possible not to have insurance although I would reccomend it. Of course there are insurance policies available for a number of things from PDA insurance as well as the obvious iPhone insurance. Insurance in the long run could benefit you as gadgets are very expensive to actually replace.
