One of the most impressive and noticed features of Apple’s new iPhone 4 is the amazing 960 x 640 ‘Retina’ IPS display. Apple has packed an amazing 326 pixels per inch on their 3.5″ LCD screen. In short, the iPhone 4 delivers the sharpest display and highest resolution of any mobile device on the market.

Apple did not stop with the display on their newest iPhone release. The same internal processor that drives their recently released iPad also governs the iPhone 4. The processor leaves other smart phones way behind, as Apple truly revolutionized its processing abilities for the smartphone. In addition, the battery lasts approximately 40% longer than its 3G predecessor – which means seven hours of talk time and 300 hours if in standby mode. The frequent ding of the low battery tone will be a thing of the past with your new iPhone 4.

With this model, the iPhone OS 4.0 has been revamped and rebranded, making it more streamlined and updated, and giving you greater multitasking capabilities. No longer will you have to choose between listening to music and checking your email – you can now do both at the same time. With the iPhone 4, you can also make your own iTunes folders and download iBooks to your phone. When this new operating system was created, more than 1500 new features were either created or improved.

If you want to take pictures, the iPhone 4 can do that better than ever before, with the new 5 megapixel camera that can take 720p HD video as well. Apple has clearly listened to the requests of its customers, who were looking for a camera phone that would rival the competition. ‘Face Time’ can also be used with the camera, allowing you to make video calls, which is a feature unique to smartphones and clearly advantageous for most.

The price of the iPhone 4 is not a huge sting either. The standard promotional price being offered is around $200 US, if the user opts into a two year service contract with the provider. Of course, prices vary from provider to provider, as well as between brick and mortar stores and online. If you are seriously considering investing in the iPhone, take a few moments to browse online for legitimate and money saving deals. Brick and mortar stores often take advantage of the ‘gotta have it’ mentality once a consumer test-drives the item in the store.

In just three short years, over 50 million iPhones have been sold. This is an unheard of number in the cell phone industry. These numbers have brought attention to the capabilities of cell phones; possibilities in function are almost endless. According to some, the iPhone 4 will be the bastion by which future generations of cell phones will be measured. Most noticeable is the new screen. The “Retina” is a 3.5-inch IPS, LCD display with a robust resolution of 960 by 640 pixels and 326 pixels per inch. What this means to the consumer is clearer images due to the highest resolution available on any cell phone that has been produced to date.

The iPhone 4 has a 40% extended battery life (meaning up to 7 hours of talk-time or 300 hours on standby) in comparison to its predecessor and features the same processor as is used in the iPad. The processor is as powerful as you will find in any smartphone from any manufacturer. The difference in processing power is really noticeable when you use it.

The operating system’s previous moniker of iPhone OS 4.0 has been trimmed to the sleek iOS 4. Best of all, it now features the ability to multitask. Having to sacrifice listening to your favorite tunes while you check email is a thing of the past. The iPhone 4 also allows you to create folders in iTunes and it comes with the availability of iBooks. According to Apple, 1500 features have been enhanced in the creation of the new operating system, which is sure to please users. The iPhone 4 possesses a camera that is leaps and bounds better than those used in previous iPhones. A 5.0 megapixel camera is found on the iPhone 4 and it is capable of recording video in HD at 720p. Apple obviously was tired of receiving complaints of the inferior cameras manufactured before. Also worthy of note is the inclusion of “Face Time.” It is the ability to place video calls, a feature that no other smartphone can claim.

The iPhone 4 comes with a promotional price tag of around $200 US with a two year contract. This deal will vary depending on the provider you choose, and you may even find it somewhat cheaper. It is therefore wise to do some shopping online first before you rush to the store and buy the first one you see. Only a few minutes could save you a lot of bucks.

The Apple iPhone 4 has a design that really sets it apart from the competition. Its slim design is even thinner than the iPhone 3GS. The iPhone 4 measures 9.3mm deep while the iPhone 3GS measures 12.3 mm deep, making it about 24% less in size. The iPhone 4 measures 59mm to 62mm side to side, making it narrower than the 3GS as well. Although the weight is the same at 136g, the changes in the iPhone 4’s dimensions make it less bulky than the 3GS. Changes in design are of course just the tip of the cell phone iceberg. Where the Apple iPhone 4 really shines is in the technological department. After all, beauty is only skin deep. Maintaining the 3.5-inch display of the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 doubles the resolution of its display to 960 by 640 pixels. The IPS display is comprised of 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest resolution phone available.

The display provides an incredible level of sharpness, clarity, and image detail. Dubbed the “Retina display,” it obtained the name because of its ability to process an even higher number of pixels than the human retina. The iPhone 4 screen has in-plane switching, or IPS, capabilities that are found in all iMac and iPad displays. Because of this, you get a vibrant, colorful display that looks terrific regardless of how it’s held due to large viewing angle.

Apple’s A4 CPU, the same one found in the iPad, powers the iPhone 4. Its operating system is the iOS 4, which provides a large number of capabilities to the iPhone 4. Multitasking may be the most welcome capability. It seems too long in the making, but Apple has taken the time to ensure that the multitasking is done smoothly, just like the copy and paste feature that took some time in being released.

Size advancements and the addition of multitasking are not the only achievements of the iPhone 4. Advancements in camera and video recording devices are also a welcome improvement. The camera found on the back has changed from 3 megapixels to a more robust 5 megapixels with the same size pixel. An LED flash and a backlit sensor augment the camera. It also comes with and integrated 5X zoom. Video can now be shot in high definition at 720p and 30 frames per second. Additionally, the tap-to-focus feature found on the camera is now available on the video recorder.

To summarize, the Apple iPhone 4, is a must-have for any smartphone lovers. Unlike the previous upgrade (from the iPhone 3G to the 3GS), which saw only slight performance improvements, the iPhone 4 sees significant improvements all round, making it comprehensively better than anything that we have seen before.

If you believe batteries are out of date then reconsider, as the complete opposite is actually true. Batteries have now been with us for over 200 years. They were basically invented around the year 1800 by a man named Alessandro Volta. The marketplace is growing continuously each year and has been thought to be worth a huge $50 billion in 2009, and they are utilized in devices are far ranging as nuclear power stations and satellites. Although they are increasing in intricacy all the time, the essential philosophy stays exactly the same, they convert stored chemical power in electrical power. Theoretically speaking a battery is made of two or more cells connected in series or parallel, however it’s frequently used for just one cell. The term is considered to be down to Benjamin Franklin, who’s assumed to have remarked that charged glass plates together reminded him of a battery of guns. In 1836 John F. Daniel developed what was known as the Daniel Cell. This was based on 2 electrolytes – they were copper sulfate and zinc sulfate. These batteries then succeeded the Volta batteries for the reason that they were more harmless and a lot less corrosive. 3 years afterwards Robert Grove made the very first ever fuel cell. The fuel cell made electricity by the mix of oxygen and hydrogen. From the years 1839 to 1842 a number of different inventors produced batteries that employed electric electrodes to create electrical power. Considering the present day challenges of climate change just about the most critical developments came in 1954 when Gerald Pearson, Daryl Chapin and Calvin Fuller developed the very first solar power electric battery. Although present day solar powered energy is still not efficient enough to produce more than a small level of the worlds electrical energy, the technology is advancing quickly constantly and offers real possibilities for the future, as probably the most sophisticated of all the renewable power sources. Ah, cell phone, how many times have I lost you? Let me count the ways… As cell phones get smaller and handier, they also get so much easier to misplace and lose. How many times have you found yourself fumbling through your purse to grab your cell before it clicked to voice mail – or worse, to silence it as quickly as possible because you forgot to set it to vibrate? Those are only two of the situations in which the Smart Clip cell phone holder would have saved you from embarrassment and frustration. Who should have a Smart Clip? How about these people? The Smart Clip is a rather ingenious little gadget that promises to keep your cell phone handy – no matter what model or brand of cell phone you use. Candy bar phones, flip phones or sliders all work just fine with the Smart Clip. Nokia, Motorola, Kyocera, Apple, LG – it’s all the same to the Smart Clip because there’s nothing to fit. The idea behind the Smart Clip is so simple it’s pure genius. Instead of a loop that fits around the phone or a pocket for your cell to slip into, the Smart Clip uses a strip of 3M adhesive to attach a flexible hanging loop to the back of your cell. Once attached, you can easily twist the hook to slip it through a belt loop or purse loop, hang it around the strap to your purse or book bag, or even attach it to a key ring. Unlike belt holsters that attach to your belt loop or purse strap, the Smart Clip lets your cell hang free so that it doesn’t twist around and dig into you. Cell pockets can twist entirely upside down, dumping your expensive cell phone on the floor when you move. The Smart Clip’s design doesn’t allow that. It’s hooked to your belt loop or anywhere else you hang it until you twist the hanging loop and twist it free. The makers of the Smart Clip chose 3M adhesive for its superior holding ability. Once attached and set, the Smart Clip will support up to 8 pounds without pulling off the phone – and the manufacturer demonstrates that in the infomercial by dangling a an 8 pound bowling ball from the hook. The Smart Clip comes with two extra features that make it even handier. The clip contains a powerful LED flashlight so that not only will your cell always be close to hand, so will a light. No more fumbling for keys in your purse when you reach your door. Just twist the cell off your belt loop or your purse strap and click on the light to illuminate the inside of your purse, the cellar stairs or anything else that you need to see for your safety. The second bonus that comes with your Smart Clip is an adhesive hook that’s just the right size for hanging your cell phone on. Stick it on your car dash so that you can hang up your cell phone for easy hands free talking. Stick it on the wall above a power outlet so that you can plug it in to charge without taking up floor or dresser space. Of course, the universal Smart Clip fits more than just cell phones. You can use it for your iPod or other MP3 player, your PDA – even your calculator. You can stick the clip to any small device that you want to keep in an easy to reach place.
